2-3 days, P4/P5- Advanced Pilot Exam

The below criteria should be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor to gain your P4/P5 rating/ pilot certification

Practical tasks

P4 requirements

- Coastal Soring, Inland soring, Thermic flying, and XC flying

- Basic SIV

- 100 flights

- 5 different flying sites

- 3 one hour thermic flights

- 100 hours air time

- All pre flight checks

- All right of way rules

- Land inside a 10m radius

- Asymmetric collapse and maintain heading

- Descent techniques

- Surge control

- High wind and mild wind, take-off and landings
P5 requirements
- 300 hours air time
- Advanced SIV
- 100km xc in mountains / 60km in flats

- Passed written exam for P4/P5

- Pass oral exam

- Understanding of weather conditions

- Understanding individual limitations

- Understand air density, clouds, anabatic winds, catabatic winds

- Dangers in paragliding related to clouds and weather

- Human factor limitations

- Air flow over variety of terrains

- Wind gradient

- Changes in wind during flight
