Yes, provided you have your own equipment or rent equipment through us. This is available when we're already running a paid course or clinic, with priority given to paying participants. Student for Life pilots requesting a clinic at a specific location can receive significantly discounted rates.

What is the difference between a P1 course and a tandem flight?

Accepted Answer

A tandem flight is passive - you're harnessed alongside a tandem pilot who controls the flight. The P1 course makes you an active pilot: you control the glider yourself, learn the theory, and fly solo under instructor supervision. It's the foundation for continued learning.

Is the P2 certification internationally recognized?

Yes, the IPPI rating is internationally recognized. At P2 level, it means you're at a stage where you still require instructor input to fly and should train with a certified school.

On days when weather doesn't allow safe flying, we run ground theory and simulator sessions instead. If poor weather persists, we reschedule to ensure you get the flying time needed to complete your licensing requirements.

Murud-Janjira's coastal air is smooth and predictable, ideal for safely practising big ears, asymmetric collapses, and spirals.

The Thermal Flying clinic focuses entirely on finding lift, staying in it, and flying efficiently within thermals. The XC (Cross-Country) clinic builds on that, covering route planning, line selection, weather reading for distance flights, retrieve logistics, and real-time decision-making. The two are designed to be completed in order.

Bir Billing rarely has consecutive no-fly days in October. On marginal days, we run extended ground school, Skew-T analysis workshops, GPS track reviews, and kiting practice. If poor weather persists, the trip can be extended - plan for 2-3 extra days.
