Weather tools
These are the three tools we use before every flight. Windy is best for wind speed and direction at altitude. Windfinder gives good site-level forecasts. Meteoblue provides reliable thermic forecasts for inland XC sites like Bir and Nashik.

Incident report
All incidents must be reported. This helps the community track and improve safety at sites across India.
Local registration — ID proof and pilot card
ID proof and your pilot card must be submitted to the local police station before flying. Contact a local school — we can assist with this process.

Check height restrictions before flying. Contact a local school to confirm the current approved flying ceiling at this site — restrictions can change.
Visiting pilots
Flying in India as a visiting pilot
India recognises IPPI cards from all FAI member countries. You will still need to register locally at your flying site and carry your pilot card and ID at all times. Check the national airspace map below before flying anywhere in India.

If you hold a valid card from your home country's national body, you may fly at Indian sites subject to local registration and airspace rules.

CARE annual insurance — PAI
Annual paragliding insurance available through the Paragliding Association of India. Covers liability and personal accident for pilots flying in India.
ASC360 — short-term travel insurance
Short-term paragliding insurance for visiting pilots. Useful if you are flying in India for a trip or holiday and need cover for a specific period.

Governing bodies and rating systems
These are the organisations that govern paragliding in India and internationally. Understanding which body issued your rating and what it means is important for flying abroad and for insurance purposes.
FAI / IPPI
The world governing body for air sports. Issues IPPI cards recognised across all FAI member countries including India.
ACI
Aero Club of India. Certifies instructors and flying sites in India under DGCA oversight.
