1. What exams can I take at Paragliding Bawas?
You can take the P3, P4, or P5 Solo Pilot Examination. These are national paragliding license exams with international recognition conducted by FAI & ACI certified examiners.
2. How long does the exam take?
Both the theory and practical exams are completed on the same day, making it a one-day process.
3. What does the exam consist of?
The exam has two parts — a theory section (online exam with some oral questions) and a practical section (flying tasks). You must clear both to pass.
4. How do I choose the right rating level (P3, P4, or P5)?
Open the skills criteria document and identify which level best matches your current skills.
5. How do I enrol for the exam?
Fill in the Pilot Exam enrolment form, pay the fee, then send your flight logs and any existing ratings.
6. What flight logs do I need to submit?
Share track logs from apps like XContest, FlyXC, or Flyskyhy. Your logs should clearly show total hours, years of experience, distances flown, and your longest flights.
7. Do I need to submit existing ratings?
Yes, if you hold any existing ratings — PAI, USHPA, HPAC, BHPA, APPI, or SIV certification — attach them along with your enrolment.
8. What is the exam fee?
The evaluation fee is ₹7,000, covering both theory and practical. This is a one-time fee.
9. What if I don't pass?
You can reattempt after 7 days, on a day convenient to Paragliding Bawas, at no extra cost.
10. What is the ACI membership, and is it required?
Yes, you need either a Temporary or Individual ACI membership. This fee is paid directly to the Aero Club of India (ACI) — check ACI's website for the current cost.
11. What is an IPPI card, and how do I get one?
An IPPI card is an FAI international pilot proficiency card. The fee is ₹2,500 + GST for a new card, or ₹1,000 + GST for a renewal/upgrade. The new card fee is paid to Paragliding Bawas, who transfer it to ACI on your behalf. Renewal/upgrade fees are paid directly to ACI.
12. Are all criteria strictly evaluated?
Yes. All criteria must be completed to the satisfaction of the examiner.
13. Where can I study for the theory exam?
You can use the Paragliding Bawas Student Manual to prepare.
